summer happenings

Summer is upon us. Which means lots of pools, parties, vacations, Etc. And as usual i like to document things by taking pictures, so you will get the usual overload of pictures with descriptions. ENJOY!

We will start off with pictures of the kiddos, this is one of paisley in her favorite dress, she calls it her flower dress.
Pax was having a fun time playing with some sunglasses, he would crack up when he would put them on.
He figured out how to go down the stairs.
Doing the actions to if your happy and you know it.
Pax and greg on the swing. (i promise pax likes it, even though his face doesn't look like it)
every time we go to GG's house (grandma and grandpas) we bust out the kiddie pool

A couple days last week pax was being so clingy and fussy, every time i would get in the shower he would just cry and scream the entire time i was in the shower, he did this 3 days in a row, i could not figure out what was wrong. so one day i was trying to get ready and he started up again so i put him in timeout, and the poor kid fell asleep in his time out chair mid tantrum, its so cute but so sad. Well come to find out later that day he woke up from his nap burning up and had a fever for 24 hours, i think he is teething, no other symptoms came from it, just a mild fever for a day. don't you just love the curve balls babies throw at you?!
on the 4th of july we hung out at my parents house and got to play with leo the mastiff, he is the sweetest dog ever. He really is a gentle giant. Greg wants a mastiff SO BAD. ( he is not my parents dog)
It was SO hot, so pax had fun feeding leo ice cubes from his hand, it really is like feeding a horse lol
Me and Leo (look at that tongue)
Say goodbye to paisleys cute a-line haircut, she has been BEGGING me to let her grow out her hair, she wants long hair so bad, i finally have caved and i'm letting her grow it out :(
 Paisley being silly
We got to go boating on grandpas boat at rock port.
pax wasnt too sure of the water at first.
He finally got brave enough to play in it.
Paisley playing in the water. and yes this is as far as my kids would go in the water, my kids HATE deep water, if they cant touch then they just SCREAM their heads off.
 checking out the boats.
 cutest beach baby ever!
Paisley got to help grandpa drive the boat.
Paisley playing in the sand.
Daddy and pax throwing the football.
just a cute random picture of greg and ellie, she LOVES to cuddle.
and my pictures got out of order, the fireworks from the 4th of july.
we had a little family get together at the park, this is my dads family. It was good to see my grandpa and let him see my kids, we aren't sure how much longer he has, his health is deteriorating. I want to visit him more, its just really hard to see him struggle so much, it makes me super nervous the entire time.
My brother and his girlfriends baby nash, he has the most gorgeous brown eyes.
Paisley showing off her summer tan.
she wishes she could long board like daddy.
pax and cousin reese playing, they are only 4 weeks apart, they are going to be best buds.

Fathers day and Paisleys Birthday

Its always a busy week when fathers day approaches around here since paisleys birthday falls on or around fathers day. She turned 4 on Monday, i still cant believe i have a 4 yr old, it makes me feel old lol Her birthday lasted a good 3 days, i'm still trying to recover from them. It all started on fathers day we celebrated her birthday with gregs family, then her actual birthday was on Monday and we celebrated it with my family, then on Tuesday we took her to the princess festival for her birthday from mom and dad. I had to inform her on Tuesday night that her birthday was OVER, hahahahaha she wasnt too happy when i started taking down her birthday decorations Heck i wouldnt be either if my birthday had just lasted 3 days!!!! so Here is a major picture overload, since that's what i do best is taking pictures, ENJOY!!!!

To start off the weekend we took the kids to a splash park, the water was FREEZING, these picture are hilarious of there faces. they didn't last long.

My dad and mom with my two kids, Love this picture.
The best DADDY in the world!!!!!
When me and greg first started dating back in high school one of the first thing i found out about him is he has a obsession with superman.so naturally he got a superhero fathers day theme. I made the sign, and he got all superman memorabilia from us for gifts. Then i took him to see the new superman movie, he was in heaven!!!!

Then paisley got in on the action with a ice cream Oreo cake and gifts from the cousins.

I stayed up until midnight taking down gregs fathers day and putting up paisleys birthday decorations. one of my favorite memories was waking up to birthday decorations on my birthday when i was young i know people think i overdue and its a waste of time, but its such a simple thing and makes them feel so special!!!
Heres the Birthday princess first thing in the morning, her aunt sissy got her this adorable princess dress, she stripped down first thing to put it on!!!!
Her favorite breakfast food is donuts, so that's what she got was a pile of donuts and she was in heaven!!! and yes she changed out of her princess dress before she ate so she wouldn't get it dirty, and this girl changes 20 times a day!!!!
And then by afternoon she changed into her birthday outfit her grandma got her, so adorable!!!!

We went to my parents house that evening, and of course she got another princess dress from grandma and grandpa, because that is seriously all she wanted for her birthday was a million princesses dresses. NO JOKE!!!
Here she is again blowing out birthday candles, this time on a ice cream cupcake!!!!

To end the birthday night, she got a new bed and new princess bedding from us, she LOVES IT!!!

Now on to Tuesday, they have a princess festival at thanksgiving point, we took her last year and it was amazing, so this year we wanted to take her for her birthday, it didn't start until the day after but shes only 4 she didn't know the difference lol Here she is all dolled up ready to go. I love the kissy face one ;)
She got to meet a mermaid, pax did not like her, he touched her tail and ran off.
She got to meet every princess you could think of, her favorite of course is Rapunzel!!!
Pax got in on the action and got a dragon painted on his face, he loved getting it done, he was closing his eyes loving the girl tickling his face, so funny.

And the car ride home was nice and quiet because this was happening in the back, hahahaha!!!!
i guess 4 hours in the hot sun meeting princess after princess is exhausting.

Living in the moment.

We have been having lots of fun around this house lately, lets just say its overdue since we have had a horrible winter/spring. I must say everything we have been through has mellowed me out with the kids. I can let things go much easier and not stress so much over the small stuff. I feel like i needed that little bit of hard reality to make me realize i just need to be in the moment and enjoy my kids and not worry so much. We have been swimming. We had two cousins get married two days apart. Paisley had her second dance recital, and did AMAZING!!!! We had cousins come from st George and played with them. As well as lots of playing outside. Now to top off the busy week we are installing new laminate wood floors in our condo.
so here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Wedding in Morgan UT. This is my cousin from st George.
we had kneaders french toast one morning and pax LOVED the whip cream that came on top!!!
Paisley all ready for her dance pictures.

Wedding #1 My beautiful aunt and her son dancing.
Wedding #2 Aspen and Paisley loving the cotton candy!!!
Paisley on her big recital day!!!! I didn't cry the second time around ;) its amazing how shy this girl is, but you put her on stage with her dance group and she dances her little heart out, i really feel like we found her passion in life.

And as far as paxton and his recovery from heart surgery he is doing AMAZING, you would never guessed 7 weeks ago he had heart surgery. We have a follow appt. in august with his cardiologist, im excited to take him and show his cardiologist how good pax is doing now. He hasnt seen him since before his surgery because a different surgeon had to do paxton's surgery.

Paxton's follow up appointment.

Pax had his follow up appointment yesterday. He is doing fabulous!!! They did a chest x-ray to make sure his chest is clear, and it is. They also did an EKG to see if his heart is working better, and he passed!!!! His blood pressure is perfect, YAY!!! He has a really good pulse in his leg, finally and his feet are warm. The doctors are amazed at how well he is doing, and still cant believe how well he was doing before the surgery considering how hard his heart and body was working. When he listened to his heart the heart murmur was gone. The only concerns they have is he hasn't gained any weight since his surgery, he still weighs 24 pounds, which is what he weighed before surgery. But considering he got the flu when he was only 2 weeks out from surgery, they understand why he hasn't put on any weight. and they explained to us that as he gets older and the aorta stretches to grow with his body, the spot that they had to correct will always be narrowed, or different from the rest of the aorta, so this means he has a higher chance of developing high blood pressure. So they want to make sure he is on a good diet, so we have to watch his salt intake and processed foods. YIKES, that's going to be hard for me, i guess we will all have to start eating better. Before the surgery they explained to us that there could be a slight possible chance that the aorta could close off again, when the incision heals it could get allot of scar tissue around it and close off again, if that were to happen they would go in with a balloon and open it back up. Luckily when they checked him yesterday it hasn't happened yet, and since he's 3 weeks out, the doctor felt pretty confident that he has a less then 10% chance of it happening now, he said he feels like it would have started happening already if it was going too. i was so relieved when he told us that, i was probably most worried about that happening. Pax will have to continue to follow up with his cardiologist for the rest of his life, but hey if that's all that comes from this i'm totally fine with that.
We did mention to them that he has been acting really naughty and throwing the WORST tantrums, they weren't concerned about it. They said usually it takes them a while after surgery to feel better, and once again getting the flu on top of it, and getting his back molars in, wasn't helping the situation. they also reminded me he is 15 months old and that's the age that they usually start the tantrums. He hasn't been doing it as much as he was over the weekend, so i think he is starting to feel better. Its just that this kid is so testy, if he doesn't get what he wants when he wants it, you are in BIG trouble, you will see the biggest meltdown EVER. Now that i know its not health related and they guaranteed me he's not in any discomfort, we have been ignoring them and it has been helping with the tantrums.
All in all pax is healing really good, and now that his incision has mostly closed up he can finally take a real bath, no more sponge baths!!!! i'm just glad its over with, now we can just enjoy the summer.

My huge meltdown

as you could probably guess this post is not a positive one. My kids are testing my patience very HARD the past few weeks (lets face the past few months) So as most of you know we have had a terrible winter with illness around our house. All of us have had multiple insta care, docotrs visits, and even for me a trip to the E.R. and paxton with his surgery and stay at primary childrens. I always thought getting him through the surgery and healthy again would be the last of it and i would FINALLY get to enjoy life. You see for a stay at home mom i look forward to holidays or vacations to get me out of the house and talking to other humans besides babies. And i have missed every single chance to get out of the house, and it has made me extremely depressed. But i feel like for as much as i have been dealt with i have been handling it well and trying to look for the positive in every situation. Well this past week paxton was 2 weeks post surgery and was going to have his follow up appointment on wed. which we were really looking forward too since he would get a chest x-ray and a EKG to make sure the surgery fixed everything and that he is healthy. We got up nice and early that morning so we could get everybody ready in time for his appt. well when greg when into his room to get him up he comes out and says it  looks like pax had thrown up all over his pillow, WHAT?! i go in there and sure enough he had, but at the moment he was acting totally fine, even smiling and babbling like nothing was wrong, so i thought maybe he just ate something that upset his tummy. so i continued to get him ready, and then it happened projectile vomit all over....AAAAHHHH.......NOOOO....... not today out of all the days not today. Sure enough he had the the flu, the throw up just kept on coming the rest of the morning. so we had to call the doctor and tell him we would have to reschedule because pax has the flu, they ended up calling  us back and telling us if he didnt stop throwing up by the end of the day we would have to take him up to primary children's, just because of his condition they didn't want him getting too sick. luckily he stopped throwing up around 11 am and slept most of the day, so i was grateful he didn't have to go back up to the hospital. This kid is pretty amazing he handles discomfort pretty well, he usually isn't very fussy and is really good about resting when he doesn't feel good. (paisley on the other hand is horrible and cries and fusses when she doesn't feel good) So wed. wasn't too bad paisley went over to a cousins house to play while i stayed home and nursed pax back to health. He slept through the night and woke up on Thursday in a pretty good mood, he didn't eat much which was totally fine since his tummy was probably still upset. Same on Friday. Well i was throwing a little pitty party because my family was down in st george having he time of their lives golfing and boating. And my feelings were hurt that i was stuck home with sick babies. So when greg got home from work on Friday he said lets get you out of the house, we picked to go get some ice cream. We get there order some ice cream sit down at the table and starting eating, well pax started acting fussy, so greg let him try a sip of his smoothie he got, BAD IDEA once again pax threw up, and i mean projectile vomit shooting across the table, not once but TWICE. all i heard was the the teenage girls working there saying EWWW......GROSS.....poor greg and pax were dripping in throw up. so greg rushes pax out to the car and i ask the girls for help cleaning it up, they were not going near the vomit, which was fine so i asked them for some cleaning supplies so i could clean it up myself. As i am cleaning it up feeling so stupid as other people around just staring at me watching me, paisley decides she needs to go potty NOW, grrrrrr..... so off to the the potty i take her, get back to the mess to clean up, finally get done cleaning up. as i leave throw away all our ice cream, by then we had all lost are appetite for ice cream. Get home and of course pax  starts acting fine like nothing happened which i new he would. The kids both ate a piece of bread and off to bed they went. At about 12:00 am i hear paisley wake up coughing so i go check on her and what does she do.....yep you guessed it throw up all over, i pick her up and rush her to the bathroom as she continues to throw up. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! i was in shock, only because paisley had just had the flu 2 weeks prior to this, so i wasn't thinking at all that she would get sick AGAIN. So here's to another night of throwing up. She did pretty well and by the morning was  feeling allot better and even ate some toast and kept it down. She slept most of the day on Saturday. pax on the other hand was a whole different story he was not in a good mood, and i mean screaming and crying ever since he woke up that morning, we were trying EVERYTHING to get him to calm down, i could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong, he does not act like this. finally i took him upstairs in a quite room and rocked him until he stopped crying and fell asleep on me from exhaustion. i went and climbed into bed and fell asleep, i was not in a good mood at all and that's all i felt like doing. a couple hours i wake up to him screaming his head off again, do the same thing all of Saturday trying to make him happy but nothing was working. it was the longest day of my life. by 8pm i locked myself in my room and watched a good chick flick and let the tears flow. Sunday morning paisley was back to her normal self, but pax of course not, woke up screaming his head off AGAIN and was like that all day Sunday  I could not handle another bad day, i didn't want to spend another day inside all day when it was FINALLY warm and nice outside, i hadn't showered in days and my house was a MESS. so while pax took a nap i showered and got to cleaning, and i mean cleaning. non stop. He of course woke up not happy still, i was starting to panic thinking something was really wrong, that i couldn't visibly see from the outside. maybe the throwing up caused his incision on the inside to burst or something like that, i was starting to FREAK out. Greg kept telling me everything was fine. I couldn't breathe i was so panicked, everything was caving in, all my emotions just surfaced and i completely had the biggest melt down EVER.
i'm the worst mom, i shouldn't be aloud to have kids, i don't know what i'm doing, my life is over, greg hates me, i have no help,.......blah blah blah blah, sniffle, cry, sniffle, cry. my mom called me to say they were home from st george and i couldn't even talk, like from the minute i said hello just sobbing, the kind of sobbing that you cant even make words, all i manged to get out was my weekend was HELL, and i'm so overwhelmed i think i'm going to have a heart attack and die. i'm sure she regrets calling me. lol
I was sure i had caused all this to happen to my kids, that i wasn't clean enough and that's why they kept getting sick, i mean what am i supposed to do put them in a freaking bubble. How do people have 6 or more kids?  how do you people with kids do it? how do you have a life and kids? am i doing something wrong, or do i really have this bad of luck? does everybody go through this with kids? am i ever going to see the outside world again?
OK my rant is over and my little pitty party is over, just have to get out, but i am being serious about any advice anybody can give me about being a parent, because right now i'm having a really hard time.
