I spoke too soon......
I think i jinxed myself when i wrote that post about nobody getting sick anymore :(
I wasn't feeling well on Sunday morning, a little sore throat and overall just felt crappy, but as the day went on i started feeling a little better, i just thought i would wake up the next morning feeling better, WRONGO. ( i know that's not a real word) I woke up Monday morning not being able to breathe, like i literally couldn't take a deep breath in or out, i was panicked, my chest was so tight i thought i was going to die, no joke. So greg took me to the insta care, and they rushed me right back, my heart rate was really high, the machine was beeping like crazy, but my oxygen level was 100% (that did not make sense to me). I had no voice it was really hard to talk, because i couldn't breathe. The doctor listened to my lungs and was concerned because he couldn't hear crackling or anything like that, but he said my lungs were not working properly. He had me get a chest x ray which didn't show anything, and he had me do a breathing treatment, (the lovely photo above, thanks to greg wanting to document this moment) After the breathing treatment i wasn't doing any better, which he thought i should have been.
So that's when he came in and said those scary words that made me cry hysterical "you might have a blood clot in your lungs" WHAT??? that was the last thing that was on my mind, a blood clot in my lungs? He told us to go the the E.R. to get it checked out.
Need i remind you it is 5:00 pm on Christmas eve my kids are at grandmas house waiting for us to go to our yearly Christmas eve party, i was devastated that i was going to spend Christmas eve in the E.R. but at the same time i was scared to death, what if he was right, what if i had a blood clot in my lungs, i could DIE. so my fear took over, and to the E.R. i went. My mom, Greg, My mother in law, My sister, Etc. kept telling me i didn't have one, and that i was just sick with a really bad cold, but i couldn't stop thinking about it, i HAD to get it checked out for my sanity.
When i got to the E.R. my heart rate was still really high, so they rushed me back, before i could even change into my gown, people were in the room taking my shirt off and hooking me up to a E.K.G machine, getting a iv hooked up, it was happening so fast, i had nurses and doctors in the room all asking me questions at the same time, to say the least i was FREAKING OUT. luckily after some oxygen, and iv fluids i started to calm down. My heart rate started to go down as well.
After being in the E.R. for 3 hours my blood test came back normal and i didn't have a blood clot in my lungs. WHEW, thank god i felt my body get so much more relaxed after that. I was going to be OK. but the big question still was not answered why was my chest so tight and i couldn't breath, why was my heart rate so high? Well they didn't have an answer, they told me to go home and treat my symptoms. The Doctor ended with saying he thinks i had a panic attack, due to the fact that i couldn't breathe. which he was probably right, i could feel my heart racing. so home we went at 9:00 pm. missing the Christmas eve party :( It was a roller coaster of emotions.
Well here i am the day after Christmas, not doing much better. I still have allot of tightness in my chest, and my throat hurts SO BAD, it hurts to swallow my own spit, so my conclusion is i have a really bad cold, and my chest is just full of gunk. I have been taking musinex and i have coughed up allot of flem, hoping this helps soon. If i don't feel better soon, i will probably go back to the insta care and see if its strep or something.
That was one of the most scariest moments in my life, i'm so glad i'm OK. Even thought i felt like crap on Christmas day, i was grateful i wasn't in the hospital. Its just crazy to me that Christmas is one day out of the month and i get horribly sick THAT DAY, sucks.
